CostaDiner.com Costa’s Tin Pan Alley Diner was in Juneau Alaska

A diner called Costa’s Tin Pan Alley Diner (also known simply as Costa’s Diner) previously operated in Juneau. It was located on Merchant’s Wharf.

The diner, run by Collette Costa, was among several smaller, independent establishments that had to close to make way for the redevelopment of the aging Merchant’s Wharf building into a new commercial space, including a restaurant called Flight Deck. The closure occurred around or prior to November 2008.

Collette Costa indeed ran Costa’s Tin Pan Alley Diner at Merchant’s Wharf, serving up classic diner fare in a spot that was a staple for locals and visitors alike.
The redevelopment was part of broader waterfront plans from the mid-2000s, which aimed to modernize the aging structures through public-private partnerships, including expansions to Marine Park and new commercial spaces.
Today, the site houses businesses like the Alaska Fish & Chips Company at the Flight Deck, which continues the tradition of waterfront dining with fresh seafood and views of the harbor.
It’s a classic case of urban evolution in Juneau, though many still miss the old independents like Costa’s.
